A special message from Philip and Joyce
We wish to thank everyone involved in our leaving Service and lunch at the Glebe on 3 September. The service was very special and we appreciated the way that so many church groups and people were involved; the participation of the Head teachers of the local schools, the Junior band, the children and the choir; the ‘tunnel of blessing’ by all the congregation at the end, and all the words of encouragement and appreciation. There was much laughter and merriment too, particularly in the drama and in Martyn Offord's song at the Glebe. We appreciated the presence of both church congregations and the Baptist and Methodist chapels, as well as various community representatives who all came to the lunch.
A big thank you to Di, Dennis, Lynn and Mary who put the service together.
We want to say a special thank you for the blanket box made by Keith Fretwell that we were given by the congregations; it is a wonderful permanent reminder of love and care. Thanks too for all the cards and other support we have received. We will cherish memories of you all as we move to Durham at the end of this month, and look forward to hearing how you are all getting on.
