Extension News

This new section of the website will give latest information on how the extension and fundraising for it is proceeding.

We hope to be able to include photos, designs, pictures, etc

We now have an artists impression of what the new extension will look like from the outside. As you can see it complements the existing church. (The new part is leftmost on the picture)

St Mary's Crich proposed extension

This is the proposed plan of the new areas created by the extension. The meeting rooms will be able to be opened up into 1 larger area if required. A great benefit of the extension is that all facilities will be on the same level as the church.

50 – 50 Rolling Sale

We are about to launch a new way of raising funds for the Extension.  Many people have objects at home that are too valuable to throw away but they no longer want; yet it's so much hassle to sell them.  We propose to do the selling work for people by offering to try to sell items on ebay, and sharing in the profits.

We believe in tithing, so it will not only help us raise money for the Extension but also be a project that we have close connections with.

We are proposing to start in June to work in the following way:

· People will contact the church giving the details of the object for sale.

· A visitor will come to take any necessary photos and assess the postage.

· An operator will post the details on ebay.

· Once sold the visitor will return to collect the item and arrange for its delivery.

When the money arrives from the buyer our treasurer will post a cheque for the 50% of what remains after costs and a 10% deduction for an outside charity.  Of course, if anyone wants to give a bigger percentage to the extension that's great.

If anyone would like to be an "operator" and do the computer work for us there will be training offered.  If anyone is interested in either operator or visitor please contact Philip.

Pledges

£73,000 has been pledged since the launch on 27 April.  If you are planning to fill in a pledge form but have not yet done so, it would be helpful if that could be done as soon as possible since it will assist our appeal to others.
